In 2021, Council decided to implement a Vacant Home Tax to be implemented in 2023. It is a 1% tax on assessed value for homes that are vacant for more than 6 months. The Vacant Home Tax declaration portal is now open, the deadline to declare is February 2, 2023. Paper copies of the declaration form are available at Revenue Services Property Tax, Utility and Parking Ticket Payment counters at all civic centres. A printable PDF is now available. If required, homeowners can receive a paper declaration form by contacting 311.
