The newly improved Mallow Park is open to the public! Thank you to all the community members who provided their feedback during the community engagement process.

The City has worked closely with the local Councillor and community to create a new proposed design for the park. The improvements were identified as per funding availability and include:

• A shade structure with accessible benches and picnic tables

• A new small playground area with engineered wood fiber safety surfacing and ramp for a new basket swing to accommodate increased need for more accessible play

• New outdoor fitness equipment with engineered wood fiber safety surfacing and an accessible ramp. Proposed equipment includes double pull-up bars, triple pushup bars and a long bench.

• Planting beds with a mix of perennials and shrubs

• Asphalt pathway connecting the playground area, new park expansion area, and the eastern park entrance. Includes minor reconfigurations to existing pathway by the new shade shelter

• Relocation of the water bottle filler (from the new park addition) to a new small seating area with benches and a planting bed located at the intersection of the new pathway

• Reshaping of the existing hill (still to be used as an informal tobogganing area and will not affect height)

• New tree planting to provide visual screening, greenery and shade

• Additional seating areas
